Today was our first full day of Merit Badges with Scouts getting to know where they have to be and the adults relieved that the rain has now stopped. The scouts are in (just to name a few), Horsemanship, Archery, Astronomy, Metal Working, Pioneering and more and are spread out all over the camp as well as a ranch where Animal Science and Horsemanship are being taught.

We are also getting into a routine of flag ceremonies, mealtime and other evening activities. Below are some pictures from around camp during the day.

Tuesday was a sunny, warm day with no rain. Scouts continued to work on their merit badges, eat meals and go to open activities around camp. Overall a good day. Sophia B. participated in a team event where they built and won a raft building contest.

Added – Astronomy did a night star gazing party at the lake, despite the haze, they were able to complete the party.

Today the camp started with silly flags, breakfast and of course our own color guard raised the American flag this morning. Horsemanship scouts were finally able to ride horses and were very happy. The troop worked on camp improvements as part of giving back to Scouting and for the Baden-Powell awards. Scouts completed Merit Badges or working on the last requirements for their merit badges. Dinner was cooked and served by adult troop leaders as the staff had the night off. Scouts had a free night to play volleyball, work on requirements or chill in camp.

Last day at camp, we had an early nature/bird walk at 6 AM for 3 miles around the lake. We did our sign replacement project. Two more swimmers, for a total of three, completed the mile swim which consisted of four lengths across the lake. Scouts completed as many merit badges as time allowed or had free time. A group photo of the troop was taken by the lake. Lastly, we had a camp-wide games and an OA ceremony / closeout ceremony for the camp.
